American Federation of Television and Radio Artists Law and Legal Definition
American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) is a national labor union representing performers, journalists and other artists working in the entertainment and news media. The members of AFTRA include, among others, actors, announcers, news broadcasters, singers, dancers, sportscasters, radio disk jockeys, and talk show hosts. AFTRA negotiates and enforces collective bargaining agreements that guarantee minimum salaries, safe working conditions and health and retirement benefits.
