American Statistical Association Law and Legal Definition
The American Statistical Association (ASA) is the U.S. leading professional association for statistics. The ASA supports excellence in the development, application, and dissemination of statistical science through meetings, publications, membership services, education, accreditation, and advocacy.
The ASA aims to:
a. support excellence in statistical practice, research, journals, and meetings;
b. work for the improvement of statistical education at all levels;
c. promote the proper application of statistics;
d. anticipate and meet member needs;
e. use the discipline of statistics to enhance human welfare; and
f. seek opportunities to advance the statistics profession
