American-Style Option Law and Legal Definition
American-Style Option is a stock option contract that can be exercised at any time between the date of purchase and the expiration date. Most exchange-traded options are American-Style options. Whereas, European-style options, may only be exercised during a specified period of time just prior to expiration.
