According to 42 USCS § 6291 [Title 42. The Public Health and Welfare; Chapter 77. Energy Policy and Conservation; Improving Energy Efficiency; Energy Conservation Program for Consumer Products Other Than Automobiles], the term "ANSI standard" means a standard developed by a committee accredited by the American National Standards Institute.
