Appearance Docket Law and Legal Definition
An appearance docket means a docket which contains a list of the appearances in actions before court of law. It also give a brief abstract of the successive steps in each case.
In Miller v. B. & O. R. R. Co., 60 Ohio St. 374 (Ohio 1899), the court observed that “The filing of a written assignment of a judgment with the clerk of the court in which the judgment was rendered, and the entry of the same by the clerk upon the appearance docket of the court, do not constitute notice to others of the assignment.”
