Aquatic Nuisance Species Law and Legal Definition

Pursuant to 16 USCS § 4702 (1), [Title 16. Conservation; Chapter 67. Aquatic Nuisance Prevention and Control; General Provisions] the term aquatic nuisance species means “a nonindigenous species that threatens the diversity or abundance of native species or the ecological stability of infested waters, or commercial, agricultural, aquacultural or recreational activities dependent on such waters.”
