Arctic Council Law and Legal Definition
Arctic council is a high level intergovernmental forum created to protect the Arctic environment and promote the economic, social and cultural well being of the Arctic governments and the indigenous people of the Arctic. The Arctic Council was established in Ottawa in 1996. Its members include the U.S., Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, and Sweden.
