Asylum Seeker Law and Legal Definition
Asylum Seeker is a person who applies for asylum as a refugee. Any person who has entered a country legally or illegally, can seek refuge by applying for protection under the terms of the United Nations Convention relating to the Status of Refugees claiming an inability or unwillingness to return to the home country because of a well-founded fear of persecution. Such a person is referred to as an Asylum seeker.
