Audi Alterem Partem Law and Legal Definition
Audi Alterem Partem is a Latin legal maxim which means ‘hear the other side’. The maxim is usually applied to all cases before any court. No person should be judged without fair hearing in which each party is given the opportunity to respond to the evidence against them. It embodies the concept in Criminal Law that no person should be condemned unheard. It is similar to Due Process. This also one of the fundamental principles of natural justice.
