Audience Law and Legal Definition
Audience literally means the act of hearing. In law, it refers to a hearing before the judges. Right to audience is a term generally used in English law to refer to the right to appear and be heard in a given court. It denotes the right of a certain type of lawyer to appear in a certain type of court.
Audience also refers to a group of persons who take part in a work of art, literature, encounter theatre, music show and academics in any medium. Persons who form part of the audience participate in various ways in different kinds of art. The participation may vary from overt audience participation to modest participation involving criticism and clapping.
