Automated Dispensing System [Food and Drugs] Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 21 CFR 1300.01 (45) [Title 21 Food and Drugs; Chapter II Drug Enforcement Administration, Department of Justice; Part 1300 Definitions], the term automated dispensing system means “a mechanical system that performs operations or activities, other than compounding or administration, relative to the storage, packaging, counting, labeling, and dispensing of medications, and which collects, controls, and maintains all transaction information.”
