The term avails means the proceeds of the sale of property.
The word "avails", as used in a statute, which exempts from liability for any debt of the decedent's succession the proceeds or avails of life insurance, means the net amount or proceeds collected from the insurance company or companies, and the words "proceeds" and "avails" are synonymous terms.
