Average Weekly Hours Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 19 USCS § 2319 (5), [Title 19. Customs Duties; Chapter 12. Trade Act of 1974; Relief from Injury Caused by Import Competition; Adjustment Assistance for Workers; General Provisions] the term average weekly hours means “the average hours worked by the individual (excluding overtime) in the employment from which he has been or claims to have been separated in the 52 weeks (excluding weeks during which the individual was sick or on vacation) preceding the week specified in the last sentence of paragraph (4).”
