Battel Law and Legal Definition
An ancient form of trial, by Bingle combat, where in case of appeals of felony, the appellee could fight with the appellant in order to prove his/her innocence. This form of trial was practiced in English law and was later abolished by stat. 59 Geo.,III. c. 46.
