Battle Damage Assessment (Military Law) Law and Legal Definition
Battle damage assessment or BDA is the estimate of damage resulting from the application of lethal or nonlethal military force. In other words, Battle damage assessment DA is the timely and accurate estimate of damage resulting from the application of military force, either lethal or non-lethal, against a predetermined objective. Battle damage assessment is comprised of physical damage assessment, functional damage assessment, and target system assessment. Battle damage assessment can be applied to the employment of all types of weapon systems in military operations.
