Beach and Windstorm Plans Law and Legal Definition
Beach and windstorm plans are insurance pools specially designed for certain states. These state sponsored insurance pools provide coverage to property destroyed by windstorms. All individuals may not be able to buy such insurance from the voluntary market since they are highly exposed to risk. Currently, beach and windstorm plans are offered by Alabama, Florida Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina AND Texas. These plans cover residential and commercial properties against hurricanes and other windstorms. Georgia and New York also provide such coverage through other property pools.
