Biomass Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 451.2 [Title 10 Energy; Chapter II Department of Energy; Subchapter D Energy Conservation; Part 451 Renewable Energy Production Incentives], the term biomass means “biologically generated energy sources such as heat derived from combustion of plant matter, or from combustion of gases or liquids derived from plant matter, animal wastes, or sewage, or from combustion of gases derived from landfills, or hydrogen derived from these same sources.”
