Biosphere Reserve Law and Legal Definition
A biosphere reserve is an international conservation area designated by UNESCO under its Programme on Man and the Biosphere (MAB). It is an attempt to establish an international network of protected areas encompassing examples of all the Earth's major vegetation and physiographic types. Biosphere reserves contain virgin vegetation and different kinds of cultural landscape.
