Black Hole Expenditure Law and Legal Definition
Black hole expenditure is expenditure that is neither immediately deductible nor depreciable over time for tax purposes. Some common examples of black hole expenditure include losses on buildings; lease cancellation costs; business structure costs; and certain feasibility expenditure. Capital research and development (R&D) expenditure that does not give rise to a depreciable asset is also an example of black hole expenditure.
