Blanket Certificate Law and Legal Definition
Blanket Certificate is a permission or authority granted by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). A holder of blanket certificate has the authority to engage in an activity such as transportation service or sales on a self implementing or prior notice basis as s/he deems fit. There is no need of case-by-case approval from FERC.
