BOEMRE Law and Legal Definition
BOEMRE is the abbreviation for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement. It is a U.S. federal agency under the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI). The BOEMRE is responsible for overseeing the safe and environmentally responsible development of energy and mineral resources on the Outer Continental Shelf.
The BOEMRE is headquartered in Washington, DC, and headed by a Director. The Director is appointed by the DOI Secretary. S/he is supported by senior executives who manage national programs, policy, and budget in Washington, DC and three regional directors responsible for management and program implementation.
