Bridle Law and Legal Definition
The term bridle has different meaning under different context. It means:
a. an instrument of punishment for common scolds;
b. the harness placed on the head of a horse for guiding and controlling him while he is being driven or ridden;
c. anything that controls or restrains;
d. a connecting metal strip for limiting motion in machinery; or
e. a cable with the ends fast and another cable attached to it between the ends for applying force, as in towing a ship.
