Brownfield Law and Legal Definition
According to 7 CFR 25.3 [Title 7 Agriculture; Subtitle A Office of the Secretary of Agriculture; Part 25 Rural Empowerment Zones and Enterprise Communities; Subpart A General Provisions], Brownfield means a qualified contaminated site meeting the requirements of section 941 of the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997, where the site is located in an empowerment zone or enterprise community.
