Build-to-print contract is a contract which requires the contractor to build a product according to the exact technical specifications given by a customer. The design specifications are explicit and are often coupled with performance specifications. Therefore, the contractor hardly has any discretion in deciding how to perform. Most of the governmental contracts are build-to-print contracts. A build-to-print contract is also known as design-specification contract.
