Built Environment Law and Legal Definition
Built environment means an area where buildings or other structures, such as canals or dams, have been built. It is usually a human-made surrounding including everything from simple housing to neighborhoods and cites, and even man-made outdoor environments. A built environment is often distinguished from the natural environment. One element of the built environment is "historic and cultural preservation."
