Cadastral surveys refers official create, define, retraces, or reestablishes the boundaries and subdivisions of the public and federal interest lands. It shows the boundaries of land ownership, by the production of documents, diagrams, sketches, plans, charts, and maps. Cadastral surveys employ scientific methods and precise measurements, and are based upon law and not upon science. Survey records are restricted to the Bureau of Land Management personnel.
