Calling and Interrogation of Witnesses by Court Law and Legal Definition
According to USCS Fed Rules Evid R 614, the court on its own motion or at the suggestion of a party can call witnesses. All parties are entitled to cross-examine witnesses thus called. Similarly, the court can interrogate witnesses, whether called by itself or by a party.
