Cancellation of Removal Law and Legal Definition
Cancellation of Removal is a benefit available to an alien by adjusting his/her status from that of deportable alien to one lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the U.S. By canceling an alien’s removal or deportation, s/he gets opportunity to stay back in the U.S. An application for cancellation of removal is made during the proceedings before an immigration judge.
