Captation Law and Legal Definition
Captation refers to coercion of a testator resulting in the substitution of another person's desires for those of the testator. It is the act of a person who succeeds in controlling the will of another so as to become master of it. It is generally taken in a bad sense. This term is also formerly used to describe the first stage of a hypnotic trance.
