Carbon Stocks Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 300.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter II -- Department of Energy; Subchapter B -- Climate Change; Part 300 -- Voluntary Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program: General Guidelines], the term carbon stocks mean “the quantity of carbon stored in biological and physical systems including: trees, products of harvested trees, agricultural crops, plants, wood and paper products and other terrestrial biosphere sinks, soils, oceans, and sedimentary and geological sinks.”
