Career Law Enforcement Officer Law and Legal Definition
According to 42 USCS § 3796dd-8 [Title 42. The Public Health and Welfare; Chapter 46. Justice System Improvement; Public Safety and Community Policing; "Cops on the Beat"] "career law enforcement officer" means a person hired on a permanent basis who is authorized by law or by a State or local public agency to engage in or supervise the prevention, detection, or investigation of violations of criminal laws.
