Cassetur Billa Law and Legal Definition
Cassetur billa is a Latin term meaning, “that the bill be quashed”. Cassetur billa refers to a judgment quashing a plea in abatement. It is also a plaintiff’s on-the-record admission that a defendant’s plea in abatement cannot be avoided. It is a statement that discontinues the action. Cassetur billa is also known as billa cassetur or quod billa cassetur.[Ross v. C. D. Mallory Corp., 132 N.J.L. 1 (Sup. Ct. 1944)].
