Charge Conference Law and Legal Definition
Charge conference means a meeting between a judge and the parties’ lawyers, for the purpose of developing a jury charge. Such conferences are held after the parties have closed their cases and before the jury is charged. Matters to be included in jury instructions are decided during a charge conference. It gives the lawyers an opportunity to put forth the objections they may have with regard to the instructions proposed by the judge. A charge conference is also known as prayer conference.
