Chief State Election Official [Federal Elections] Law and Legal Definition
According to 11 CFR 9428.2 (b) [Title 11 -- Federal Elections; Chapter II -- Election Assistance Commission; Part 9428 -- National Voter Registration Act (42 U.S.C. 1973gg-1 Et Seq.); Subpart A -- General Provisions], the term chief state election official means “the designated state officer or employee responsible for the coordination of state responsibilities under 42 U.S.C. 1973gg-8.”
