Citizen's Oath Law and Legal Definition
Citizen's oath is an oath or pledge taken by persons when they become new citizens of the U.S. Persons taking this oath swear that, they will support and defend the Constitution of the U.S. against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Also they will faithfully discharge all duties and responsibilities as citizens of the U.S. The oath was promulgated in 1989 by the Commission on the Bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution.
