Civil Frauds Section of the Department of Justice Law and Legal Definition
Civil Frauds Section of the Civil Division's Commercial Litigation of the Department of Justice litigates cases involving financial fraud against the federal government. The Civil Fraud Section deals with fraud against health care programs, fraud in the procurement of weapons systems and other goods and services by the Department of Defense, fraud in construction of federal buildings, fraud purchases of government equipment and information technology, and fraud foreign aid. The Section investigates fraud allegations with the assistance of Criminal Division and the Offices of the U.S. Attorneys, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Offices of Inspector General of our client agencies.
