Clearing Member Law and Legal Definition
According to 17 CFR 1.3 (Title 17 - Commodity And Securities Exchanges; Chapter I - Commodity Futures Trading Commission; Part 1- General Regulations Under The Commodity Exchange Act; Definitions), clearing member “means any person who is a member of, or enjoys the privilege of clearing trades in his own name through, the clearing organization of a designated contract market or registered derivatives transaction execution facility.”
