Coast Line Law and Legal Definition
The term “coast line” means the line of ordinary low water along that portion of the coast which is in direct contact with the open sea and the line marking the seaward limit of inland waters. 43 USCS § 1301. See also Alaska v. United States, 546 U.S. 413, 414 (U.S. 2006).
