According to 49 CFR 383.5 [Title 49 – Transportation; Subtitle B Other Regulations Relating to Transportation; Chapter III Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Department of Transportation; Subchapter B Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations; Part 383 Commercial Driver's License Standards; Requirements and Penalties; Subpart A – General], commercial driver's license information system (CDLIS) means “the CDLIS established by FMCSA pursuant to section 12007 of the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986.”
