Common Occupant Law and Legal Definition
Common occupant is a person who retains possession of land after the death of a tenant for the life of another, and while the person for whose life the estate had been granted still lived. A common occupant is entitled to the estate until the death of the person whose life measured the duration of the estate. A common occupant is also called general occupant.
