Communist affidavits Law and Legal Definition
Communist affidavits are affidavits given to the employers disclaiming communist party membership or affiliation. Union officers were required to file these affidavits before their organizations under the Taft-Hartley Act. The affidavit requirements were repealed by the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959.
