Community-Based Agency Law and Legal Definition
According to 42 USCS § 12511 (Title 42, The Public Health and Welfare; Chapter 129, National and Community Service; National and Community Service Grant Program; General Provisions), the term "community-based agency" means “a private nonprofit organization (including a church or other religious entity) that--
(A) is representative of a community or a significant segment of a community; and
(B) is engaged in meeting human, educational, environmental, or public safety community needs.”
