Commuting Expense Law and Legal Definition
Commuting expenses are those expenses incurred by the taxpayer as traveling from and back to his/her principal place of employment. It includes car expenses and public transportation costs. Commuting expenses are not a deductible item in taxation. Commuting expenses are tax deductible if the taxpayer has temporary work locations and multiple work locations on a regular basis.
