Complete Diversity Law and Legal Definition
Complete diversity refers to diversity between both sides to the lawsuit so that all plaintiffs have different citizenship from all defendants. Complete diversity is commonly found in multiparty case. Complete diversity is also a concept where federal court have diversity jurisdiction over the matter. The rule of complete diversity was first developed in the case, Strawbridge v. Curtiss, 7 U.S. 267 (U.S. 1806).
