Condemn Law and Legal Definition
Condemn means to declare a building unfit for use and order its destruction as a peril to health and public safety or to order the slaughter of diseased animals. It also means to adjudge guilty or to pass sentence upon a person convicted of crime.
In the context of eminent domain to condemn land is to set it apart or appropriate it for public use. [Wulzen v. Board of Supervisors, 101 Cal. 15 (Cal. 1894)]
