Conditional Pardon Law and Legal Definition
Conditional pardon is a pardon that will not become effective until the wrongdoer satisfies certain prerequisites or else the pardon will be revoked upon the occurrence of some specified act. In other words, a pardon is conditional in nature when its effectiveness depends upon the fulfillment of a condition by the offender, usually a lesser punishment, as in the commutation of the death sentence.
