Congregate Services Programs Law and Legal Definition
According to 42 USCS § 8002 [Title 42. The Public Health and Welfare; Chapter 89. Congregate Housing Services], the term "congregate services programs" means programs to be undertaken by a public housing agency or a nonprofit corporation to provide assistance, including personal assistance and nutritional meals, to eligible project residents who, with such assistance, can remain independent and avoid unnecessary institutionalization.
