Consortium [Education] Law and Legal Definition
According to 34 CFR 371.4 [Title 34 – Education; Subtitle B -- Regulations of the Offices of the Department of Education; Chapter III -- Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Education; Part 371 -- Vocational Rehabilitation Service Projects for American Indians with Disabilities; Subpart A – General], the term consortium means “two or more eligible governing bodies of Indian Tribes that apply for an award under this program by either:
(i) Designating one governing body to apply for the grant; or
(ii) Establishing and designating a separate legal entity to apply for the grant.”
