Consortship is a term used in maritime law. It refers to the agreement between salvors, in which they agree to work together to salvage wrecks. The recovery is apportioned among the salvors. Consortship helps in reducing interference from salvors that do not belong to a particular group. It also helps in preventing collisions between operators attempting to salvage the same wreck.
