Consular Processing Law and Legal Definition
The process of applying for a visa or a Green Card in a foreign country through the local US consulate is referred to as consular processing. For example, when a U.S. citizen marries a person who is not a citizen of the U.S. and also in a country other than the U.S., then such person who is not a citizen of the U.S. will need to apply for the Green Card in that country by way of consular processing.
